Ndumo Wilderness Lodge |

Time at Ndumo is mostly spent on birdwatching (over 400 species!) and on game drives and nature walks through forests of fig trees and the surrounding bush. Drives in open 4x4 vehicles are a highlight, as is boating along the waterways (depending on water levels). Accommodation is in the wilderness zone of the reserve, in an area not open to the general public. The camp offers 8 luxury-tented rooms each with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony. The entire camp is raised up on wooden decks inter-linked by walkways under the canopies of giant fig trees. The cool thatched bar and dining room area have a commanding view of the floodplain. The reserve is also home to good number of Black Rhino, White Rhino, Hippo, Crocodile, Giraffe, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Nyala, Red Duiker and Suni. Leopard is occasionally sighted. |

Rocktail Bay Lodge, is situated in the northern reaches of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The lodge is built within the forest canopy of vegetated dunes that occur along Maputaland’s coastline. Rocktail offers perhaps the most private beach experience in South Africa, with nearly 40 kilometres of unspoilt, pristine coastline. Accommodation is in 11 tree-house chalets, each with its own balcony and additional outdoor shower. The main area of the lodge has an inviting lounge and separate dining room. There is a fully accredited dive-centre offering boating excursions out to sea around low tide to SCUBA and snorkel on the pristine coral reefs offshore. Other lodge activities include fly-fishing, snorkeling, swimming and drives to Black Rock, the Hippo Pools and to the surrounding community in open 4x4 Land Rovers. |
